My 4G is not working on my iphone it is on 3g. i have selected 4G but it just doesnt work and is always 3G.

An area I know well - my grandparents lived nearby in Dalston.

 

On the iPhone in settings - mobile data - mobile data options

 

Does it say Voice & Data 4G?

In that case, as @BandOfBrothers has said, you need to speak to customer services as there is clearly an issue with your account.

 

But make sure you tell them what is actually happenning and don't mention anything about the sim not being active as that will confuse them and they'll give you the wrong information.
