Closing account

I've ended my pay monthly account with Vodafone a year ago, recently I checked my credit score history and although I have no late payments and the status is OK, it still shows up as if my account was open, and the problem with this is that it shows an old address. How can I get it properly closed from Vodafone so it no longer shows on my credit score.

Many thanks

@hbschiller I can see that it showing as open can cause you a problem.

Go ahead and talk to the Credit file Support Team and ask them to show the account as closed, once they do that it will be reflected within 28 days on an credit agency listings.

As the account has been closed out by you but for some reason not been removed from vodafones records you need to speak to the Credit file Support team on 191. Does the entry on your credit file show the daye of the last status update from Vodafone as recent or is it just an old entry that has not been updated since you closed the account?

The Credit File Support Team  are the people who can authorise entries to be removed  from credit files.

It wouldn't harm to speak with http://www.experian.co.uk who I'm sure will help and guide you.

Thanks for your reply, actually I have and they suggested me to contact Vodafone as they are not able to "close" accounts so I thought it would be something pending with Vodafone to close it.
Cheers

Experian are correct, they can only act to remove a marker if instructed to do so by the creditor.

Good luck I hope it all goes smoothly in getting it removed.

Thanks kids for your answer, yeah the status on payments shows up every month up to last month, all saying OK, but it is just this "open" status with an old address what's concerns me, not sure how it can impact on when some bank check my address for instance. I'll have a try on your suggestion. Thanks

Thanks again, just a final one, I am trying to call on 0333 304 0191 but it doesn't accept my old number (as I've got it sorted) and also doesn't accept my account number, saying it couldn't find it, is there any number where I can talk to a human being instead of a machine.

Thanks
