I got my contract in January 2016 on a 24 month contract ending in January 2018 but on my Vodafone app it says my contract doesn't end till at least August 2018. I know my contract is only 24 months though. How do I get this corrected as I brought my phone through another website no Vodafone themselves.

Have you changed the allowances at all throughout the contract.
I understand you opened up the contract through a 3rd party but you can still check with Vodafone Customer Services on 191 or Live Chat to check the contract terms.
Take another look at any emails you first received too just to check.
You could also check with the 3rd party as they will have been the ones who set everything thing up with Vodafone.
