I'm hoping someone can help.
I have just upgraded to a BT Home Hub 5, with an upgrade to BT Infinity within a few days.
When connecting my Sure Signal 3 it runs through the setup and finishes with a flashing Power light and an orange steady in service and in use light.
I have tried numerous resets on the Sure Signal with the same results.
This same Sure Signal works fine with my original Home Hub 4. And is registered and has a Serial Number 42150222729.
Speed Test Results are: Ping = 61ms, Download = 6.1 Mbps, Upload = 0.36Mbps
Ping Test Results are: Packet Lose = Failed unable to test, Ping 57ms, Jitter = 27ms

Update, I have replaced the ethernet cable (Thin white one) that came with the Sure Signal V3.
It has now connected. Not good considering this Sure Signal and cable is only 2 weeks old.
Poor.

@Paul_Dorset - Please make sure that the BT Smart Setup is turned off, you can do this by logging into the router.
Also, follow the below process:
Manually configure your router to allow port-forwarding.
In most cases, routers support a system called Universal Plug-n-Play (UPnP), which sets up port-forwarding for you automatically. If you’ve got a complicated network setup, or a complex router, you may need to enter these settings manually.
Please see the following for a list of IP addresses and port numbers that need to be forwarded to your Sure Signal's internal IP address. For instructions on how to do this, we recommend you contact your ISP or Router Manufacturer, or refer to the default guide for your particular make and model, over at http://portforward.com.
Destination IP Addresses:
Ports and Protocols:
Please note that in the above list of IP addresses, the notation "212.183.131.128/26" means the complete range of IP addresses between 212.183.131.128 and 212.183.131.191
Your router also needs to assign the Sure Signal with a DNS (Domain Name Server) address via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).

Hi Charles and thank you for your reply.
I can confirm that I turned off the BT Smart Set up as one of the first things I tried.
I have created an option for the Sure Signal in the port forwarding section and added all the required ports to be opened.
I'm afraid I lack the knowledge of how I'm to allow the IP addresses you've listed as this isn't an option when I set the ports.
My router has DHCP Server enabled.
Thank you
Paul.

I have also requested a resync of my Sure Signal, but this was some 6 hours ago and nothing has corrected the issues as yet.
22-02-2016 07:47 PM
@Paul_Dorset - I've checked your Sure Signal and can see a resync was put in at 12.49pm today, so leave it connected for 24 hours to allow for any updates.
23-02-2016 10:59 AM
Hi Charles,
Thank you for checking that.
As of this morning the Sure Signal was still showing the error lights. I will wait the 24 hours and then get back with the result.
Thanks again.
Paul.

Sure Signal still not working. 😞
I can't believe that these units aren't plug in and go with what must be number one router out there.
We have a similar thing for EE and there's never been any problems, no messing around with logging in and registering or resyncing. it just works.
