Hi,
I live in England but am in Republic of Ireland very frequently and want the Ireland Plus bolt on. I am currently with O2 and want to switch to Vodafone as a businss customer.
I have a copy of a live chat transcript from a Vodafone 'Specialist' who said I can have the Ireland Plus bolt on even though I dont live in Northern Ireland. I repeatedly questioned this and he said he was 100% certain I could and that he was the 'Specialist'
Can I, on the basis i effectively have this in writing via email and printed subscirbe for a Vodafone subcription business with the Ireland Plus bolt on.
Secondly, why is it that the Vodafone sure signal, whether in the Uk or ROI only allows numbers with Vodafone from that specific jurisdiction to strengthen the signal. Surely if I have a UK Vodafone contract and say a Irish Vodafone Sure signal I should be able to register my UK number, or vice versa. Any help, particularly re the Ireland Plus which I believe I should be entitled to given the so called 'Vodafone Specialist' confirmed I could in writing. Also although I know why this was offered in Northern Ireland it covers all of the North so why should'nt it also cover the entire UK.

Hello ZuluDawn
The 'Specialist' you spoke to has given you incorrect advise. If you refer to the link below, you need to have a Northern Ireland address and postcode.
Use your UK minutes, texts and internet in the Republic of Ireland
Vodafone Ireland is a separate company to Vodafone UK. For this reason, Vodafone Ireland Sure Signals will only work with Vodafone Ireland number and this is the same for Vodafone UK.

Hi Ann,
Thanks for your reply, but it doesnt actually answer my question, I have been told I am entitled to it in a chat transcript. In writing so shouldnt I be allowed to have it.
The bigger issue here is that Vodafone UK and Ireland are different but they managed to allow people in Northern Ireland (which falls under Vodafone UK) have the bolt on for the Republic. Why shouldnt that be available to the whole of the UK.
Re the sure signal the fact they are based in UK or Ireland is irrelvent, Vodafone couuld easily assimilate the sure signal to allow anyone between the UK and Ireland to register their Vodafone mobiles.
Example is Tesco UK and Tesco Ireland, 2 seperate companies, but guess what, you get clubcard points in both countries with the same clubcard. Would love to know how these things could actually be looked at by someone very senior in Vodafone as they would prove to be a huge benefit and encourage new customers to Vodafone

Hi ZuluDawn
Thanks for your posts.
AnnS is correct that you do need a Northern Ireland postcode to get Ireland plus. However, to confirm it for you I’d need to check your account. We’ll need some extra info from you which you can send to us here.
As for Sure Signal, there are various reasons that a UK number wouldn’t work on an Irish Sure Signal and vice versa. Both companies although part of Vodafone Group are separate entities, so use different billing systems, network infrastructure and so on.
Thanks
Simon

Hi ZuluDawn,
I've checked the email address on your eForum profile and there's no sign of an email into our team.
When you followed the link Simon posted to send us the details, you should have received a confirmation email. That has a reference number in the subject line which looks like "[#1234567]". Can you post it here for me?
If you used a different email address, you can also change that on your profile and let us know so we can check against that.
