Many people are having issues with the Vodafone App at the moment. Rather than un-installing the app then re-installing it, try going into the app itself, find settings, then there is an option to delete the app. Then you can re-install it. This way it clears your cache and cookies.

I was told this by technical support, my problem,
on the iphone 5 SE, is that you can't actually get to the settings button on the App, because there is a big dialog box on the screen

I have other iphones on the same account on which it works properly. Iphone 6s, but I have the exact same issue on an iphone 6SE too..
technical support were not able to help me.

So seems vodaone finally admitted their is an issue they send me a text saying they are NOW aware. This extremely bad support by vodafone not keep up with their app compatibility
