Problem with Vodafone Wallet

I have set up smartpass and wallet on my s4 (not rooted) all was ok untill I had a sim change (the new nfc one), now smartpass will not load and wallet opens with a message saying "Unable to open wallet. you recently swapped your sim card. your new sim may take 15 mins to register. please try again later. error C1075.  That was 6 days ago. since then I have uninstalled the apps reinstalled them, and then out of frustration a factory reset on the phone. nothing works, so i am not going to spend money on that card till its sorted.

I have made 3 calls to customer services, no one in India knows what "Wallet" is. The first one put me through to smartpass who said that its nothing to do with them and i should speak to customer services, so I phoned again and told the person not to put me through to smatpass as its the Vodaphone Wallet department i need, she put me through to smartpass............aghhhaaah. the 3rd call (now been on the phone for 55mins) told me that he would find the answer to my problem, 10mins later he gave me a telephone number for the people to sort out the problem with the app, when I phoned the number, it was Transport for London. Vodaphone are known for there poor IT but there must be someone that knows how to sort this, but i have no idea how to contact them. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Thanks for your thoughts, I have already tried replacing the Sim, I have another contract and the same message keeps appearing with that one as well.
As I explained no one at 191 knows anything about wallet or who to connect you to to get an app problem sorted. It's not on there script and when they put me on hold to speak to there supervisor they come back and connect me with smartpass, and they do not know anything about wallet and tell me to phone 191. And so the endless loop continues.
My advice to any one thinking of getting involved with this service is don't. Wait until PayPal do it, I'm sure they will get it right from the start, and not make you have a sticker on the back of your phone with a different account from the one you already have.

Wallet isn't NFC-compatible with all devices.   There used to be a list, but I can't find it now.  It will work with some non-Vodafone ones (I have a SIM-free HTC One M9 which is compatible).  I don't think there's a published list of those, though.

As far as I'm aware, you can use Wallet with the Smartpass tag on pretty much any device as long as it's on the Vodafone network.   Wallet itself then only acts as the holder for the "card" in that case.

Bear in mind that you need to be on the Vodafone network (not wifi) during the setup process.

Hi. No one seems to have placed any significance on my posting stating that the Vodafone store in Sheffield are claiming that Vodafone are not supporting the wallet app any more.

I don't think any one knows.  This is certainly the first I've heard of it and I hope it's not true.  You won't get an official comment before any announcement.   Shops have been known to say all sorts of things about Wallet that are totally incorrect.

Have they EVER given support? It's a farce and nobody has a clue. Pathetic.

Current/Previous Devices:-Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge (Gold), Samsung Galaxy s5, HTC OneX (W), HTC Desire HD. HTC Desire, N97Mini(died), N97(x3) which finally died, NokiaN82, Nokia 6300, Nokia 6230i, Nokia 6230, Nokia N80, Nokia 6310, Nokia 3650, Nokia+Other Nokias (+ 2 TinCans and a piece of string, but that was AGES ago!!) 🙂

So S6 edge + NfC sim + Vodafone wallet = doesn't work. Multiply by several calls to customer services = fail. Come on what's going on. I'm on the new billing platform, the sim works but wallet won't. Wallet starts up and says that Vodafone " are setting up wallet on your new SIM card. It shouldn't take long"...... Hahahahahaha 3 days later.

Some unbranded devices will work with an NFC SIM, but I don't think the list is in the public domain, sadly.*

@treeboy0583 - you are setting up over mobile data and not wifi, aren't you?   Also, is the My Vodafone app working for you?   I only ask because, if there's an issue there, it could indicate a problem with the account after migration to the new billing system.   These do generally get fixed, though.

* Edited to add: I've just been told, confusingly, that this isn't the case.  However, my unbranded HTC One M9 is fine.

Yes I've gone through everything. But I have realised that my phone was sent to insurance. So i don't know if it's a new phone or repaired!

Hi, I've now been told in 3 different stores that Vodafone are stopping the wallet service. In one store I was told it was communicated in a newsletter.

I'm not aware that that's correct and there was an update recently, which suggests it isn't.

With regard to transferring from one device to another, I've done this once and it took about 24 hours for it to be working on the new one.  I also didn't have the original device, so wasn't able to uninstall it from that.
