Solution

SSV3 not connecting to new iPhone 6 and iPhones on OS8

mark990
4: Newbie

The SS has been working fine for the past year or so with our iphone 4S and iphone 5. Wife has a new iphone 6 on the same number, I have same iphone 4S with OS8 and daughter has the old iphone 5 on OS8. Now all 3 don't connect to SS. I have checked the numbers in the dashboard and all are active. The SS has solid red light, solid white lights on the 2 left icons but no longer shows the right hand icon light when making a call. This use to light up when connecting a call.

Have tried reset but still no go.

Using BT Homehub 3 which was all good upuntil last week.

Any help appreciated.

Any ideas?

Mark

Update, just changed the settings on the Homehub 3.

Disabled the firewall and the iphone 4 now connects correctly.

The iphone 6 and 5 still dont connect.

Will try to delete them from the SS list and then add them again.

Getting there slowly.

Done that, thought I'd reset the SS and now it's gone belly up. The Red power light is on solid and the internet light is pulsing. Will leave for an hour or so and see if it comes good.

So, SS lights back on and now iphone 4 and 6 connecting. Can't check the 5 as daughter is out at the moment. I turned the Home hub firewall back on as I searched the web and read that its not a good idea to leave it off.

Also i read on one of these threads to open ports 8, 50, 123, 500 and 4500 so I've done that or at least I think I have because I have no idea what a port is or does.

Will keep updated of anything changes again.

Good luck if your reading this because you have a similar problem, and hold off on the Sledge Hammer!

Jesus H, the iphone 5 also works!
