I've just been shifted from Demon onto Vodafone for Broadband. My computing is done on a mac network of two desktops with ethernet one with wifi and a couple of laptops on wifi. The desktops serve functions as servers and to enable them to work, I use the Apple Time Capsule as router whihc originally connected to adsl through a modem. A while back Demon swapped it for a modem / router when the original failed. I tried to use it as a router but ever since then i've had issues and so have tried to move it to modem mode with little success... double NATS etc.
I have a comprehensive list of port forwarding on the Time Capsule and other functions and ive been unable to get the modem to function in modem only function.ther than reconfigure all of my settings I would rather continue using the Time Capsule as the networks gateway to the internet via a modem and not shift routing functions to a combined modem/router
Could anyone help provide the settings to set up the modem as a router and if possible any thing I need do to ensure the time capsule continues to work..

I've now set up the Vodafone Connect which leaves my Apple TC run my network but I am getting a double NAT error on the Airport Utility. I need set the network up so that my servers running Apache, Icecast and other services can reach the tinterweb whilst I can come into manage the machines via VNC from when outside. It worked fine when I had a simple modem ( now dead) giving me internet services. I'd rather reatina the port mapping that is set up on the ATC instead of having to go through it all and work out what goes where and then set up the VC to handle port forwarding. I also believe this ends my guest wifi network access point that the ATC provides.

I'm not advertising. I ditched Apple Airport Extreme and swapped to Linksys WRT-3200ACM. I run time capsule and network back up on it (Back Up raid server ). Router setting up NAT properly and adding/reserving mapping devices is dead easy by 3 clicks. No problems so far. AND here is a ping decrease. In my case google.co.uk was 12ms, now 7ms.
I'm running 4K streaming, Hi Fidelity music and plenty of devices.

Thanks for the suggestion, that's about option C right now, I have a complicated port farwarding list for a number of machines which I am trying to avoid having to re-establish which is why I want to keep the ATC.

I also have TC on my network. What i did is:
1. Ask vodafone for your username and password for broadband.
2. From my old provider (Talk-Talk) i took old router and put it in bridge mode. Maybe You can put your old in bridge mode.
3. On TC settings I put like this (see attachments)
4. Update TC settings.
5. Profit. Well still have issue with speed during peak time but this setup work without dropped connection since Thursday 01/02/18
Perhaps you can use old hardware as modm only. and put vodafone username and password for conection?
If not try this:
On vodafone connect find TC in lan setings. Assin DHCP reservation for TC. Find DMZ in setings and use TC ip for DMZ. All requests from internet will be forwarded to TC. TC will then NAT those requests to specified devices.
Yo uwill see double NAT, but it works.

Jafazor... GooG advice. Downsides of your setup are: Voodoo and Talk Talk can see, access and manage your computers, delete files.
Voodoo is well known for shady practices. When I do Lnksys, Asus or other decent router TC will appear under same IP 192.168.1.@ and here is going to be one IP with decent firewall.. More secusecu

Neither Vodafone nor talk talk can see my computers. On HG633 the TR069- protocol for remote management- is disabled. My home network is secured good enough. I assume everybody who uses other hardware, than supplied by ISP is aware of dangers and secure his own network appropletly. Sometimes I think about replacing TC with other more advansed routers (TC is very limited) but my setup worked well for yearss now and will not try fix something that is not broken. Yes, I know there are better solutions.

I would leave it as is then. In my case Voodoo router wasn't handling more than 2 connections same time. And Voodoo router was adding 4ms ping to each connection with impossible gaming jitter. Voodoo will drop Internet each 90 sec. Be aware
On my Fibre 76 I'm gegetti poor 3-4 Mbit most of the days. Fault free VDSL 80/20

The Vodafone Connect router can not be configured to work in modem only mode.
If the Apple Time Capsule supports PPPoE you should be able to use a 2nd hand unlocked Huawei HG612 from ebay. Many of the Zyxel VMG... routers will also work in modem only mode. Further details can be found on the Kitz forum.
