Sure Signal v2 not working after Vodafone software update

While trying to troubleshooting a new iPhone connectivity issue, the Vodafone tech team pushed or attempted to push a software update to my Sure Signal and since then it has not worked.

I have rebooted the Router and Sure Signal several times with no effect.

The Sure Signal was performing faultlessly prior to the update.

What light sequence you're seeing:

After reboot has been given several hours, I have a solid power light with no other lights.

@Spins

I’ve just checked and you Sure Signal is showing as updating yesterday afternoon.

Has anything changed now? Is it up and running?

Everything else looks absolutely fine.

Hi Wayne

I have tried rebooting it several times now and each time it appears to start updating and performs several automatic reboots then just drops off the network.

I have had a continuous ping running during this time and you can see the pings fail a handful of times as it reboots and then after a couple of hours the unit loses complete network connectivity and both white lights are off.

After being given the run around by the Vodafone helpdesk I have finally de-registered and re-registered the device and performed another reboot.

It did the same auto reboot several times but has now been up on the network for 3 hours with 2 flashing white lights but still no phone connectivity.

Device has now been active on my LAN for over 12 hours but still sits with a steady power light and 2 flashing white lights.

@Spins

Please ensure the following ports are open on your router:

  • 50 (TCP & UDP)
  • 53  (TCP & UDP)
  • 67 (UDP)
  • 68 (UDP)
  • 123 (UDP)
  • 500 (UDP)
  • 1723 (TCP & UDP)
  • 4500 (UDP)
  • 33434 - 33445 (UDP)

IP addresses to be allowed on the router & firewall

    • 183.133.177-179
    • 183.133.181-182
    • 183.131.128-191

I can see it's registered successfully, so once the above steps have been followed please perform a reset.

If you're still having issues, please try this at a different location such as a friend or family members (preferably with a different ISP).

This way we can see if it's a fault with the Sure Signal or the setup.

Hi

All ports are open and there are no IP restirctions in place. The device has also been reset several times.

I now have another SureSignal (s/n 42152649804) connected to the same LAN and router and it is working as expected.

Cheers

@Spins - If your new Sure Signal is working fine, this does indicate that the other may be faulty/

I’ve sent you a private message with instructions on how to get in touch, so we can look into this further.
