SureSignal not working

Hello -

Please can you help ?

My SureSignal v2 has not been working for awhile, there is only a steady power light on it. It did used to work ok, not sure exactly when it stopped working (maybe months ago). I've tried rebooting/resetting the unit but it doesn't fix the problem - it cycles through flashing both white LED then just the left one, then it goes back to a steady power light only before repeating the cycle.

I've got a BT HomeHub 3 (BT Infinity)

S/N of my Sure Signal is 41113720712

I've followed all the troubleshooting steps from the "Steady power light only" post but nothing helped.

Welcome to the eForum mattas,

Many thanks for posting your details ready. I've checked through them and all looks healthy for your traceroute, speed test and IP details. :Smiling:

The unit is connecting to our servers this end but I'm pushing a manual synchronisation out for you to make sure your Sure Signal is up to date.

To complete the process can you:

  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

If you're still seeing issues after an hour or so, or you test another Ethernet cable so we can rule out faulty equipment?

Cheers, Ben

Hi guys,

sazsambo - I can see your Sure Signal connected to the network yesterday. Can you try this troubleshooting guide please?

8970 - How did you get on?

Thanks

Ian

Would like to know when it connected yesterday as  had no signal on any of the three phones that normal run fine of this suresignal. Have now tried a hard reset to no avail. So the tried the trouble shooting. Which I tried before contacting you.

Well thank you for all your not very helpful advice ,but it would of course help if you even repelyed guess I'll ring up to be told my ssv3 is fine and its my phone or my intent or something else as long as it's not you or your fault. Time for change as don't need to stay with Vodafone as no signal even with suresignal.

Hi sazsambo,

Apologies we didn't get back to you sooner. We work posts in time order to be fair to everyone's queries.

The Sure Signal connected again this morning just after midnight. Can you confirm the light sequence you're seeing now, just in case it's changed?

Also, follow these steps to reset and resync the Sure Signal:

  • Unplug the ethernet cable from the Sure Signal
  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button
  • Plug the cable back in
  • Allow around one hour for the Sure Signal to come back online.

Dave

power light is on then the internet light is steady on and the service light is steady on. thats how it's been for days but we do not get signal on any of the three phone in house one beening iphone4s ,one a nokia lumia 610 other not sure of. have now done the thing you have ask me to do so will let you know in an hour or so .

Seems to be working now thank you for your help.

Hi Guys

I have a version one sure signal which has been working happily for a couple of years or so. I was out of the country last week and on my return it seems to have stopped working. Lights 1,2 and 4 are on and solid but my IPhone 5 S wont pick up the signal.

Any ideas?

The problem you describe can often be fixed by vodafone re-pushing a firmware upgrade out to it, that may have not installed correctly.

If you can list your suresignal serial number, it should mean they can check your device and re-issue the firmware when they get to this post either later tonight or tomorrow, if that is the problem, or ask you to get in touch if everything looks ok.

Hi Grolschuk (great name)

The serial number is 21197180967

I look forward to hearing from them and thanks for the quick response

Cheers

Hi ChrisPounsett,

I've asked for the latest firmware to be sent to your Sure Signal.

Please leave it switched on for the next 24 hours and do not reset it in this time.

Thanks,

Matt B
