Hi there
I have been in Cairo for a 1-month vacation and I am going back to the UK in around 12 hours. I was on a Pay As You Go package (20 GBP per month) before I went back to Egypt and I would like to renew it before I reach the UK so I'd have a working service with Mobile Data over there.
I tried using my credit and debit cards (both the Egyptian and the English ones) in order to top-up but I keep receiving an error. Sometimes it says "You can only top up a maximum of 20 pounds in the first 7 days you're with us. - [error ref 1c1]" and other times it just says "We're working hard to fix the issue, so please try again later".
I tried using the "Live Chat" feature on the website but it says that no agents are available at this time. I tried calling "191" but it said that I don't have enough credit, especially since I'm calling from Egypt.
I'm not sure what to do at this point. Any help and advice are appreciated.
Thank you.

Unless the terms have changed I believe your only able to use a UK Credit Card to top up.
Your UK Credit Card issuer maybe not authorising the Payment to protect your account if they think something's not right. If you can I would suggest to call them.
Live Chat is 24/7 so its best to open a chat window and wait for an agent ensuring you dont block pop ups etc. A computer or tablet is the best devices to use.
Other ways of topping up are How-can-I-top-up-my-phone.
Other options to contact Vodafone are in Contact-us.
I wish you all the best with this situation.
