I have posted this into off topic as I can not see any reference to Vodafone Home phone and Broadband.
I have install the router and all is working but there one thing that is missing from the setting of the VDSL router that being a function to turn off DHCP, I have for the pasted 10 year had my own network running at home with a fully working server that is my DHCP & DNS server but for the first time in history I have just sign up for 18 month and got a bloody router that has no function in the GUI settings pages to turn OFF the DHCP server. So for now I will have to wait for 18 months before I can change ISP. thanks vodafone tech team for missing this one. If there is anyone out there that can offer me a firmware update to give me the function to turn OFF DHCP then please post it.

Router arrived today and surprisingly (not) there was no username and password for my own router included. Rang up and asked for it after stating it didn't support my network configuration. Was first told to use the vodafone router as a gateway, which was not acceptable as would use twice the amount of electricity so I would need the password. Went away again and was username and password told can't be given out for legal reasons and it's in the terms. Explained I'd read the terms and didn't see that point so could they please point that clause and paragraph out to me. Went away for a few mins and came back with the support disclaimer and my username and password!
I may have been lucky as the sales rep who sold it all to me had said it and I'd mentioned that if I couldn't do it I wouldn't go ahead with the service but you just have to be polite and firm with them and you should get what you need.

They absolutely dowright refused to change their t&c that prevents the divulging of log in username and password and I was very persuasive (clearly not enough though). I am now wondering what extra software their router has that others dont. Any why. I can't think of any other reason why they should be so against us using our own routers (Draytek 2860 in my case). They must know that most people who can set their own router up will be very unlikely to ever call tech help.

Quote "They use their own router then to cap the line speeds."
Are you definitely sure about that? Do you know what speed the router caps at?
