I have posted this into off topic as I can not see any reference to Vodafone Home phone and Broadband.
I have install the router and all is working but there one thing that is missing from the setting of the VDSL router that being a function to turn off DHCP, I have for the pasted 10 year had my own network running at home with a fully working server that is my DHCP & DNS server but for the first time in history I have just sign up for 18 month and got a bloody router that has no function in the GUI settings pages to turn OFF the DHCP server. So for now I will have to wait for 18 months before I can change ISP. thanks vodafone tech team for missing this one. If there is anyone out there that can offer me a firmware update to give me the function to turn OFF DHCP then please post it.

Ah for gods sake. Overnight and now me connection has dropped to 66.8mb.
Oh well. 4 days late getting me connected and so far 10mb slower tha my last ISP. Looks like I'm moving. Thank god for the 30 day trial.

I was very polite and reasonable too citing very valid reasons for using my Draytek which were accepted. I even offered to make the contract call recording where all this was agreed available all to no avail. I have simply had enough of this dual standards orgainsation who agree to providing something pre-contract and then welch on the deal as soon as you have paid.
FWIW BT have done me a good deal to stay which isn't that much more for a better speed and no log in denial nonsense plus all the fringe BT benefits. Activation day was tomorrow but I have declined the Voda "deal" and been promised a full refund. Voda will also loose two mobile contracts too as soon as I can do this without penalty. After 7 years with them, what a stupid decision this has turned out to be. However as I have previously said, there *must* be more to this than meets the eye.
I shall advise anyone who asks to give Voda a big swerve until they stop this policy.

I would stay with BT if they offered me a similar deal.
I was paying 55 quid to BT. I called them up, the guy said he can offer me a £5 off!!!! . When signed up with Voda, BT called me and offered £38 per month. Couple days before switching date, I received a letter from BT confirming the switching. The letter had some incorrect information so I called them again ... and they offered £35pm and the woman said it's their last offer.
I know they can do better. Friend of mine was offered £33 (15 for broadband + 17.99 line rental) without playing with them.
If they would offer me something similar at start I would stay.
Now, I'm quite happy. I guess in 18 months there will be some better offers on the market.
£28 for FTTC is quite aggressive. I hope they won't increase prices in the middle of contract, hoping that people will stay with them anyway

On the other hand, I took VF's advice and left it 10 days to 'settle' (despite the fact I've since read that the 10-day 'training' is an ADSL thing, not an FTTC thing. After 10 days, my 50Mb line was capped at 35Mb and I've had to have VF check the line and book an Openreach visit to reset DLM on my line.
Soofla -- unfortunately you can't switch back to the Openreach modem unless you convince Vodafone to supply you with your PPPoE username and password. Whether they give it to you seems to be luck of the draw (see lots of reports in this thread).
Without your PPPoE login, there's no way to use the VF box 'downstream' of another modem. The VF router will do a PPPoE login ONLY over its own DSL interface. It won't send a PPPoE login via any other port (i.e. via a modem connected on any other ethernet port).

Can I tell the difference between 74mb (old ISP) and the 62 (currently)?
Probably not.
I could also have purchased a 1.3 litre engine car and happily driven at 60mph. I do the same speed in my more expensive 2.0 litre car.
But as I've paid more I expect to be able to use more if/when I require it.
Anyway, I'll give it the 10 days as requested. As long as the line goes stable at 70mb I will be happy.
Any less and I'll have to discuss the 30 day "trial".

@Soofla You should try and get your username and password and use your own router.

I just got my username and password and my service hast even gone live yet wont go live until 21st November

Thank you. I had assumed that I would have to connect the Vodafone router and allow it to activate before these details would be available.
