Vodafone connect router DHCP settings

I have posted this into off topic as I can not see any reference to Vodafone Home phone and Broadband.

I have install the router and all is working but there one thing that is missing from the setting of the VDSL router that being a function to turn off DHCP, I have for the pasted 10 year had my own network running at home with a fully working server that is my DHCP & DNS server but for the first time in history I have just sign up for 18 month and got a bloody router that has no function in the GUI settings pages to turn OFF the DHCP server. So for now I will have to wait for 18 months before I can change ISP. thanks vodafone tech team for missing this one. If there is anyone out there that can offer me a firmware update to give me the function to turn OFF DHCP then please post it.

What is the latest firmaware version and how does one get hold of it?

Thanks!

I think you'll have to wait for it to be served out to your router - I had a good look a while back for a "update my firmware" type button that could be pushed and couldn't find anything. Turning it off and on again may trigger some kind of update but I wouldn't hold your breath. Now it's been mentioned I'm sure my router dropped out for a short while a few days ago - I wonder if I've been updated - will check when I get home ( presumably by looking for a "turn off the DHCP" feature.)

I noticed there's a couple of differences in the phone app, but assumed they were independent of any Firmware upgrade.

5.4.8.1.271.1.41 is the version on mine which has the enhanced features, and it would appear that it is being pushed out to devices as we speak as myself and at least one other person has received the update.

Just remember to hit the Advanced/Expert user tab, top right to access the new features.

I can confirm that mine has upgraded today as well and that my IP address remains unchanged

There are posts on this forum quoting that firmware version from before Christmas so that's not the promised February update.

The quality of information from Vodafone support is somewhat suspect...

I would like to thank the following users.

Without the input from these guys I wouldn't of been aware on how dismal Vodafone support actually is and would of been just another Vodafone customer.

The spec of the connect router is fair but crippled by its firmware.

I realise Vodafone have to supply an easy to use router for the n00b but not at the cost of removing admin functions from those who actually use them.

Hide the admin settings away in an advanced menu like a BT HH to protect from the click happy users.

Luckilly I came across this thread and was given an insight into the frustration of broadband customers in time to cancel my order for the home broadband service I had recently ordered.

Thanks again guys for the insight !!
