I have posted this into off topic as I can not see any reference to Vodafone Home phone and Broadband.
I have install the router and all is working but there one thing that is missing from the setting of the VDSL router that being a function to turn off DHCP, I have for the pasted 10 year had my own network running at home with a fully working server that is my DHCP & DNS server but for the first time in history I have just sign up for 18 month and got a bloody router that has no function in the GUI settings pages to turn OFF the DHCP server. So for now I will have to wait for 18 months before I can change ISP. thanks vodafone tech team for missing this one. If there is anyone out there that can offer me a firmware update to give me the function to turn OFF DHCP then please post it.

The reference to the 30 day trial is a bit misleading. If the service fails to work then VF are in breach of contract so cannot hold you to the terms of that contract. If you have been complaining about an element of the contract then it is not deemed to be in place from the outset so no charges would be applicable.
This would work in this case. I propose taking them to the small claims court and in addition to demanding a refund of any monies paid over I, as an IT engineer of some 20 years experience, will be charging them @ £50/hr for a reasonable amount of my time for a) modifying my LAN to work with their rubbish modem router and b) asking for the modem setting details.
I don't care if they do know what I am going to do as it doesn not diminish the strength and value of my case.

However Vodafone are supplying what was promised. Unless the user has written confirmation that they will be allowed to use their own kit, then getting the £50 back wouldn't be possible.
Vodafone need to be in breach of contract for that to work, by supplying a connection within the speeds quoted woul dbe enough to satisfy their requirements.
Hence the reason the 30 day get out really isn't as cost free as you might think.
As for the equipemnt not being "fit for purpose" - I think that will not be easy to prove.

@lyonsj400 @Jadykaijai Currently we don't support the use of any third party equipment with our Home Broadband product. We also have no further information about whether this will change in the future.

To be fair I don't think anyone expects any support if they use third party equipment.

True, but try and get support for the Hooway router rubbish. I have an intermittent problem with mine, and as the on line support has been withdrawn and you have to ring 191 for support. My problem is that I have such a poor Vodafone mobile signal here I can't do that.
I think they deliberately engineer their system to make it difficult to get on-line support - but maybe that is deliberate so the useless support people can hide away from the angry clients!

If you are using your own router and have been given the ADSL username and password, I would keep your head down!
