Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this.
You should definitely be able to run the modem on different computers. As you say, that is the point in having Mobile Broadband
What you will need to do is try a different USB port and leave it for a few minutes to run through the process of finding the modem. If it still doesn't work, try another USB port.
What you can also do is try the most up to date version of the Vodafone Mobile Connect software. You can download it here -
Vodafone Mobile Connect version 9.4.6
