Solution

Meant to be activated but still not a week on.

Well not impressed with Vodafone so far meant to be activated on 2/8/24 but now a week on still not activated, made numerous phonecalls web chats, with promises to get me up and running, I feel like I'm being lied to. And actually have because they told me that openreqch would contact to arrange a appointment when they don't do that.

Sky worked fine why doesn't this work.

And a another phonecall today to ask me to restart the router again for the 100th time.

Then wanted to book a engineer because they said there is a problem with line even though I said that a engineer had been out, but they said they had got no notes. They were struggling to book and we're going to call me back.

No one called me back, this is really getting worse and worse and causing me untold amounts of stress.

I am really hesitant to contact your social media team again as I have already twice and they were no help and either told me to call which I have been doing or got me to pass a security check and then didn't help at all.

Vodafone have taken my payment already and given me nothing so far.

Sorry, I'm going to ask a dumb question. In the picture it appears to say that IPv6 is connected and IPv4 is not. Have you tried with a device which is IPv6 enabled? Have you tried turning off IPv6 in the router and then restarting it?

I wouldn't know to even start doing that, but it still doesn't solve it not working.

Thanks anyhow.

@johnnyc77 On a Windows computer; Control Panel > Network and Sharing Centre > Change Adapter Settings > Click on the relevant network icon > from grey ribbon select "Change settings of this connection" >  In the panel tick the box for "Internet Protocol 6 (TCP/IPv6)" > Click OK button. Now reboot the computer and see if the browser can connect to the outside world.

Testing the router. Connect to the router admin page (usually on 192.168.1.1) and make sure you are on advanced settings. Go to the network tab and deselect the IPv6 option for both LAN and WAN. Restart the router and then see if a computer can connect to the outside world. Please note, I am doing the router settings bit from memory because I use a different one.

Well they didn't call me back last night as promised to book open reach again, called today they can't book it  as problems booking and to give another day so got to wait until tomorrow again.

I'm getting really annoyed now and don't know what my options are because I don't want to go elsewhere as don't want to lose my landline number.

This is a disgraceful way to operate.

And now another phonecall telling me it is sat with fault team and next update will be 29th August which will be another week which is a utter disgrace

I'm at a loss what to do now, Vodafone seem to think this acceptable behaviour which it isn't.

So still not activated, waited the week for them to update from fault team. Which I ended up spending hours on phone on Friday with multiple calls backs promised but never materialised. Got a call on Monday they were sending another open reach guy out who advised their equipment fine l, it's either the authentication at Vodafone's end or the router. Now told got to wait another 3 days as they need to put it as compete which is same as they told after the engineer last time. Literally going round in circles here, and the call centre solution every time is to check connections and reset the router which has been done a hundred times.

As was transfering my number what happens to this if I cancel and do I still get the delay compensation as i feel I'm owed that for the hassle.

AFAIK, the compensation is paid as credit on your account. So if you never actually join, it's difficult to say just what would happen.

Hopefully the Mod's can give more clarity.

Hey @johnnyc77 As Jayach advises, the compensation will need to be added as a credit to your Vodafone account so we would need an active account in order to get this sorted. If you speak to the Broadband Team, they will confirm if they have another option for you due to the experience you have had, and the time it is taking for this to be resolved.
