Unplugging router in first 10 days

My broadband was activated yesterday and whilst sorting out the wires I've had to turn the router off and back on a couple of times. I noticed that the sync speed dropped each time I did this. Will this recover in time, or does the speed permanently drop if you disconnect the router during the settling in period?

It will recover, in most cases though it could take 2 - 3 weeks though.  With any VDSL connection, it's best not to cause it to disconnect too often.  If you do have to disconnected the modem/router then leaving it disconnected for 30 minutes should mean that line management won't kick in and when you restart it, the speed will be no worse!

*The occasional disconnect is fine - it's repeated disconnects that make the cabinet and modem think they have a problem!
