Calls from some vodafone mobiles to my number get invalid number or call failed when using VoLTE

My wifes mobile number was previously on the Vodafone UK network and was ported out around 2 years ago to ID mobile (which runs on the three network) since then some people who are on the Vodafone network cannot call my wife and get call failed (iPhone) or invalid number(Samsung Mobile).

We spend months with ID trying to sort this and through the comms ombudsmen - we took the id mobile phone into currys and the assistant had a VF mobile number and confirmed the problem.

I recently ported her number away from ID but to the three network directly as they had the best deal on the handset and the issue persists

I bought my son a lebera sim which runs on the VF network and he can not call her funnily my daughter has lebera sim and she can call without issue

I have logged a call now with three and the issue has followed again.

After doing some more digging I have found that if the caller on the Vodafone network drops their data from 4g/5g to 2g/3g they can then call my wife - tested with a sim on lebera and Vodafone sons sim and wifes auntie

Further testing if VoLTE is turned off then Vodafone Mobiles can call my wife's number - Tested from 2 people that cannot call her - 4g/5g on but VoLTE

Any help from Vodafone would be appreciated

Hi @jason-burke 👋 It does sound like some sort of routing issue after the number has moved to a different network, this can normally be resolved by speaking with your current networks porting team, they can then make sure they have received all the necessary files from the previous networks the number has been on. If you don`t have any luck with this, please ask the original account holder to contact our social media team via this link. I can`t promise we will be able to do anything directly, but we can certainly liaise with our porting team to see if there is anything at all we can do from this end.

After contacting VF customer services - they wouldn't help at all as the number is not with them - Three have advised its not a fault on their network - So I am stuck with people on vodafone unable to call me

As your number's not connected to our network in any way @jason-burke we wouldn't be able to help with this issue, we'd need the people unable to reach you on our network to contact us.

If your numbers ever been connected to another network and moved to 3,  you may have what is referred to as a 'split port', being unable to receive calls from a specific network can be a symptom of this. You'd need to speak to your current provider and ask them to make sure your number was correctly moved when you requested to join them. If this is the case getting them to request all the files used to carry your number again would resolve this.

I'm sorry we're unable to help you further.

This is exactly what I have done contacted three  and they have said the port is successful - it is only some numbers on the VF network using VOLte enabled that has the problem - if this is turned off on the user that is on the VF network then they can call my number 🙄🤔

This is with different makes / models of handsets all with the same symptom with VOLte enabled calls but all on Vodafone
