Rolling back 5G? - London NW6

Hi,

I've been lucky enough to be in a 5G enabled area for a while so signed up for unlimited sim 12 months ago. It's been mostly great, good signal indoors typically getting around 100-200 Mbps depending on time of the day.

Recently I had a text notification of maintenance in my area which isn't unusual so expected some disruption. However since the work completed I only now have 4G both indoors and outside. I've check on another phone and that only gets 4G too, support advise there's no ongoing work and that 4G is best I can expect for now.

Wondering why Vodafone are rolling back 5G here? Has this happened to anyone else?

Good morning @Hum22 👋 I've checked our network in your area and I can see there has been some maintenance being undertaken in the NW6 area. I can also see we currently have some sites that are experiencing some issues and this also may affect the service you're receiving. To allow us to take a closer look into this, we'd need your full postcode. If you'd prefer not to post this publicly, you can add it to the personal information section of your profile, this would then only be visible to yourself and the Community moderators.

Thanks for replying @Mark - I've added the info to my profile so you should be able to see it.

Thanks for providing your postcode @Hum22. I've taken a look into this, it appears our 5G service in your area is a little patchy and at your postcode this can only be guaranteed outdoors. There has been some worked being undertaken in your area recently too, apologies if this affected your service. This work's completed now, so your service should be back up and running as normal. It doesn't appear any work was done on the mast you're connecting to, but the increased traffic may have had an affect on your connection.

I can see there's more work scheduled in your area and the result of this will increase your 5G coverage and you will be able to receive this service both inside and out in your postcode. This is reflected on our network status checker where it shows the improvements are expected in the next 3 months.

That's the strange thing, I've had strong 5G signal in my apartment for past 12 months and now I don't even get 5G outdoors here.

I guess it's had to be rolled back and turned off here for some reason. Hopefully it will be restored soon, I was using it as my main Internet connection so I'll have to look elsewhere when my contracts up otherwise.
