I thought I had enough of Vodafone, but here we are...
I had a pay monthly account that we finished the account with and closed the line by calling Vodafone and instructing them that we would no longer be with them and would you please shut down our stuff. We also requested and used a PAC code to transfer our number to another provider. All standard stuff...
It then turns out that Vodafone has not closed down the line and instead left it open and attempted to collect money from the bank account DESPITE us notifying them over the phone from a Vodafone mobile that we would instead be moving to a new supplier. The new supplier took on the PAC code and opened the new mobile contract with us, no problems there.
Without informing us, Vodafone then instructed debt recovery solicitors to attempt to recover the debt that they assumed our closed account had. The trouble is, however, that we moved house and so all the letters from the solicitors have gone to the old address, so we only first knew of the disgusting action that Vodafone were taking, several months after it began. Because we did not know of this and so have not replied to any requests for information, the solicitors have then submitted a request for CCJ to be put against us.
This debt is not our fault, we have followed Vodafone's guidelines and yet they have instructed a law firm to take legal action for a debt that should not be there. What on Earth should we do to cancel this blatently incompetant course of action from Vodafone?

This has happened to me and I am supposed to be buying a house in the next three months it’s totally messed up my credit score, what did you do to get this removed?

You'll need to contact the Vodafone Social Media Team's via Twitter DM or Facebook Messenger and they'll have their Credit File Specialist Team's look into your case to see if the default was warranted or not.

Usually an account wouldn't go into default without a valid reason with a CCJ against your name. Vodafone wouldn't be able to remove this unless it was placed in error.
Credit reference agencies are there to help and support, if you consider this incorrect, they will assist in placing a Notice of Correction on your report.
You will still get a mortgage, but you will need to go through a mortgage broker and it will cost more to borrow due to the risks.

I’ve never missed any payments and had an excellent score. So I was shocked to see that my score has declined. I should not have to get a mortgage from a broker due to an error on Vodaphone’s side. I was not made aware

I had no recognition of this ccj until today when I checked my credit score.. I followed the instructions as required when I changed to ID mobile from Vodaphone back in December 2020. I moved address in July 2020. I have not had a letter form vodaphone informing me of any debth. The CCJ was issued in October 2021.

Did you let Vodafone know about your change of address? If you notified Vodafone of the change and they failed to amend the details you have a case.
Letters would have been sent to the address registered to the account to let you know there were some arrears on the account that needed to be paid. The final bill would also have been sent to the address registered on the account detailing any charges that were still owing.
As what has been mentioned here, the best thing to do is to let the Social Team look at the account, they will still be able to locate it, at least you will get the clarification you need.

Same happened to us. Last invoice, no balance then challenged and arbitration agreed with us but could not intervene due to ccj. Vodafone then changed electronic invoice year later with same inv number showing balance. If you have any success with no win/ no pay please advise.
