That's strange @dave79813 ,
You don't mention if you took out an Evo contract with the device payment separate here: Evo
Vodafone don't do 18 month contracts, SIM only contracts are a maximum of 24 months. If you agreed a 12 month contract, Vodafone would have sent an email confirmation of everything agreed. If you agreed the contract as an upgrade, the airtime from the previous contract may have been added on.
This is going to need account access drop the Social Team a message through social channels here Contact Us and they will be able to take a closer look.

I did not take an evo contract the contract I agreed to was a sim only contract albeit for only 12 monmths as per agreement with the rep on the telephone, however as you suggested I have now found in my junk email an order confirmation for a simcard for 18 months, but I wondered if it was possible somebody from Vodafone can check and listen to what was agreed on the telephone on 02/18/2022 at 15:53:48 because it is completely different.

When you contact the Social Team they will investigate.
Unless you went through a third party, SIM only contracts direct from Vodafone are 24, 12 months and 30 days.

I went direct through vodafone but my account definitely states 18 months whereas the rep assured me it was only 12 months, do you any chance have a link to the social team? TIA

There is a link in my first reply @dave79813 . You need to contact the Team through social channels and they respond fairly quick.
Perhaps it's a mistake, Vodafone definitely don't sell 18 month SIM only contracts from the website here: SIM only
If you cancel during the 14 day cancellation period although it will be without penalty, you will still be billed for the time you have had the SIM.

Vodafone apply a 14 day cooling off period to be able to cancel without penalty if a person finds the contract isn't for them @dave79813
Perhaps give customer services a call on 191 and or use Live Chat as they'll access your account to help and clarify.
If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care. 😎
