Credit default

Hi Vodaphone

I had a two year contract with you and when it expired I immediately switched providers. Access to the app was cut off. As I couldn’t log in, I waited for any final bill from you. None was sent. A few weeks later I called and discovered there was in fact £13 outstanding which I paid immediately while online with the rep. The rep acknowledged I hadn’t been sent a final bill and waived the £5 late fee. A few days later I got a letter from a debt collection agency saying Vodaphone were chasing me for the whole bill but to ignore the letter if it had already been paid.. I replied saying the bill had been paid and to check with Vodaphone. A few weeks later I got another letter from the agency saying Vodaphone were now chasing me for just £5 (presumably the waived late fee). I got back in touch with Vodaphone who said to ignore the letter as there was no bill and no money was owed. They gave me £5 to apologise and assured me that they would not be recording a default on my credit history. I have the Vodaphone transcripts of all of these conversations.

Today I was notified that Vodaphone recorded a default on my credit history.

So how do we fix this Vodaphone?

Thank you. I will do that.

After the initial response on Messenger, forty minutes later there has been no further response. I will try again...

When you sent us a message on Facebook, did you include your Community username or a link to this thread? If you've had an initial reply, our team could be looking at your query and they'll get back to you with some information.

I did add the link yes and I’m happy to report that while it took a while, I did get a response and the credit default will be removed.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for updating the thread and letting us know @Reliste - I'm really pleased to hear it's been sorted for you 🙂

Please note any amendments on your credit file usually update with all major lenders within 48 hours (of when the amendment is made) - it can take up to 30 working days for you to see this on your own credit report, due to the way agencies pull the data through. If you have any other questions just let us know.
