eSim swap failure (again)

This is my second experience of the Vodafone esim swap experience and I can confirm my last experience wasn't a one off.

I was using an esim on my iphone 11 and decided to move to the Google Pixel 6.  I went to the Vodafone website logged in and requested a sim swap yesterday at 18:17, received an error, but shortly after received an email confirming that it had been requested.

After my issues last time I also called the call centre who told me not to worry and it was going through.

Lunch time today I still hadn't received my QR code so I called again to be told I need to wait.

After work 17:45 I called the call centre again - the guy managed to send me my QR code immediately, however it doesn't work "reason code 3.8".

He is due to call me back in 15 minutes when the 24 hour period is fully up, but I fully expect it won't work again then.

In what world is it acceptable for a sim swap to completely stop my service for 24+ hours?

Unfortunately your experience isn't an isolated one when a person has tried to move from one phones esim to another phones esim @unhappycustom3r

I've read where some have resorted to reverting g back to a physical sim card and then change to an esim on the new phone.

Thanks BandofBrothers.  I hope that I don't have to request a physical as that means I'm going to be without my number for multiple more days.

I did have a similar experience when I first went to the esim from a physical sim with my iPhone and had to go back to my original physical and then port again but had hoped that was a one off.

So far I have been disconnected 25 hours and spoken to 6 different people.

You're very welcome @unhappycustom3r

Maybe give the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook messenger or Twitter DM a try at resolving this.

I asked for it to be escalated to a manager a couple of hours ago and when I spoke to him he seemed to understand the issue.

When the esim was requested the EID wasn't updated (there's no where to do this when doing a sim swap through the website).  He's took my EID and will cancel the two current requests that are stuck and raise a new one/update the EID.  Though this was 1 1/2 hours ago and I've heard nothing since.

Still I'm without service for 27 hours now.  Anyone thinking about choosing Vodafone for an esim I would advise to look at other providers.
