Sure Signal V3 PC Socket

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi, I do not have any spare RJ45 sockets spare on my router. I see the V3 has a PC socket so does this act as a mini hub so I can connect a device via the PC socket? That is Router -> Sure Signal V3 -> Printer? Thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul,

I don't believe it can act as a pass through for devices like printers.

Many retailers carry splitting devices to let you duplicate your ports on the router though. :Smiling:

Cheers,

Ben

So what is the function of the PC port?

Hi @Anonymous

The PC port is what allows the information to pass between devices.

Thanks,

Which devices?

Hi @Anonymous

That port is needed to connect the Sure Signal to the router.

If you don’t have a spare port, you can look into getting a splitting device, as Ben suggested above.

Thanks,

Hi, we appear to be going around in circles. The Router socket connects to the router, not the PC socket! You state the PC socket connects to a device. What device?

Perhaps a Sure Signal V3 user guide/manual may help?

Thanks,

Paul.

You can plug a PC in directly to the Sure Signal however this would not be as effective as using a router.

It would prioritise all traffic through the Sure Signal and would slow anything that uses an internet connection.
