Since changing over to Sky, my Sure Signal hasn't worked. I've seen that people are generally getting that problem so I've done resets etc but to no avail.
IP address is in the 2.219.*.* range so is the Vodafone firewall receiving this?
Also, run a trace and got:
tracert 212.183.133.177

Anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

Hello.
I've recently changed to Sky Broadband also, from BT, and since the change the VSS loses connection at random times, usually twice during a 24 hour period. It just ends up either with the flashing white light (on the left) or no lights on at all. But works fine when it is connected.
Serial is 40110929466
Thanks.
Matt.

Hey mattbmw,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing this information.
I believe you have a 2nd generation Sure Signal (VSS)? The one with three lights?
If all lights are off then this would indicate there is no power to your unit and you'd have to check physical connection. Things like the power cable, electrical sockets and fuses are typical of this type of light sequence (or lack of any lights to be more precise)
I've never come across just the power light flashing on these units though and even more unusual is the fact this symptom is not listed in any documentation, be it internal or external.
I'll have to seek some advice on this issue. I'll be back if I get any further information.
Cheers,
Lee

Hi Lee,
Thanks for your response.
Nope, this unit just has two lights, a power light and a 'mobile phone' light.
What will happen is that the power light will start flashing, then eventually both lights go off.
For most of the day it is fine, but will always fail at some point.
I've just changed over from BT to Sky broadband.
M.

Hey drooboy72,
Cheers for your post.
I can see you've posted in this thread. I've requested some information from all new contributors and this included your Sure Signal serial number.
Without this I'm unable to perform a resync. If you could supply this for me I'd be delighted to carry out your request.
@mattbmw - Could you also supply me with your Sure Signal serial number? The original has 4 lights and the second one has three, including the power light. We don't supply one with two lights only so please forgive my confusion.
The thread I've linked drooboy72 to may also be of interest
Cheers to you both,
Lee

Hi mattbmw,
If you check the thread I linked to, we believe the Sky/MER issue to be resolved.
Can you let me know your external IP address?
I've performed the resync for you. This should only take a couple of hours to go through but if it takes up to 24 hours there's no need to panic. If after 24 hours there's no change then please perform a factory reset.
To factory reset:

Thanks Lee. I'll check that thread out.
External IP is 94.12.233.39 currently.
Thanks for the re-sync, I'll see how it goes over the next 24 hours or so.
