Ok, I resort to coming here after 4 days of bull from live chat, phone calls and a manager contacting me V Long story short - I had my SIM card replaced (same number / same contract) that arrived last Thursday. I went from signal to none On Friday (and Saturday and Sunday) tried to access the website - no joy - tried live chat, speaking to an operator (three times!) and a manager and STILL have no signal on my phone at home despite the Sure Signal appearing to work - PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!
I have been told everything from "I've reset it and it will work in 30 minutes" to "It will work in 6 hours" to "It will work in 24 hours" to "You are not the registered owner so we can't help"!!!
VF sent me a replacement Sure Signal years ago and until recently have been managing this online no issues - now I have a phone with shiny new SIM that is entirely useless and a Sure Signal that appears to be working but similarly useless!!
HELP............................
Solved! Go to best answer.

My Vodafone was updated yesterday and you can now manage your Sure Signal.
When a SIM is changed, you need to remove the number as advised by @drey_p.
Once this has been done, reset the Sure Signal and add the number back on.
The final step is to reset the phone whilst in range of the Sure Signal.
Let us know if you have any further issues.

@surfncanoe Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

Hi.
I have done everything 10 times over. How much closer are we to Vodafone sorting out the national problem?
I am paying for a service that i am not getting.

Agreed. I just called 191 and was delightfully told "maybe 72hrs". Maybe. As for your "What is going on?" question the answer appears to be "Tweaking". Make of that what you will. 🙂

The service from Vodafone is shocking. Keep getting directed to do the same things over and over again and then explain over and over again what the problem is. Also, you can't log into vodafone without a passcode, and how can you get the passcode if your have no signal. Grrrrr.
Please let me know if you have any success.

You can get the code sent to your landline, once you have added your landline number to your online account. Also, it does look like you can now set your PC as a trusted location which may remove the need to sign in with a security code each and every time.

Interesting. Please elaborate. I am utterly fed up (so-called) validating myself more times than I can remember with what remains of my rapidly declining number of brain cells. (Re)validating myself so repeatedly so often so pointlessly is frankly risible. I assume the VF service will either need or look for the workstation's MAC, so is there something I can do or access to get this completed while I await the completion of VF's multiple day extended tweak? Pardon me it's at least 2minutes since I last validated myself as being myself (with the very same standing equipment and connx)... BTW it REALLY isn't "security" if the situation was actually compromised at the outset it will then be similarly compromised when perpetrated ad infinitum. Usual adage: padlocks are only in place to annoy the innocent, whereas the criminal know how to workaround.

Please advise how I can assign 'trusted location' status to my PC.
PostEdit: BTW I don't actually have a copper landline anymore (fibre optical broadband)

Service would imply something tangible being actually supplied. That has yet to happen in my book, things have at best been ineffectual to date. I live in hope I can survive these initial irritating errorsome hurdles. Fortunately I am my own tech support... however, I am giving myself some veritable flac over the lack of any real progress. I can get virtually mean with myself sometimes:~/

I lodged a complaint. The chap handling it listened intently to the tale of woe and later put me through to (presumably) part of the Sure Signal team. The latter triggered 'everything appropriate' during that call. The VSS3 box went into a very similar state as what has been 'normal' (aka SNAFU) but the yellow NIC light was now flashing quickly ..the box was appropriately 'ackling' (highly technical term from my old working days!) with VF presumably now the registration/activation was finally and actually perpetrated.
Various (additional) ports were suggested but the only one I 'agreed with to implement' was port 1723 TCP (VPN). We had a nice chat while other stuff was agreed and clarifications exchanged.
Our Cornish (three foot deep granite walls) cottage is now served with up to 5 bars of 'H' signal;~0 Appropriate areas of the garden have about 2 or 3 bars of 'H' and the garage (car has its own SIM) *is* covered by about 1 bar of 'H'. The very brief introductory tests only show that the car still appears to prefer the nearest (5miles away) town's main VF tower and continues with the normal rubbish 2 of 3 bars of 2G - while sitting sheltered (radio shadow?) within its garage walls. A call to a spare 2G feature phone from the car did not light up the right LED on the VSS3 - so the car really is still using the nearby town's tower. Oddly there appears to be no visual indication of a "vodafone Sure Signal" connx to the normal mainstream towers' "vodafone UK" indication. Suggestion/WishList item?
I still have yet to finalise the placement of the box w.r.t. windows, floors and massive metal filing cabinets. All of which I can handle myself perfectly well now that VF has pulled its virtual finger out of its...
Will compile a 'datasheet' posting in due course of answers to the questions I initially had but were mostly not answered by any source.
Yes, to confirm, I have now seen that Sure Signal [sic] ...actually works and I can stop TWIDDLING my fingers. The less said about VF's TWEAKING possibly the better but I will make that the subject of my Vodafone-lodged official complaint (when David gets back to me later).
Cheers

I have exactly the same problem as you,...5 days I've been waiting for activation and I get a different answer each time. I have asked to be kept informed but noone ever contacts me. Disgusting customer service. Some compensation must be due. Meanwhile I have no phone use in my house. Let's keep up the pressure on them and demand an explanation!
