The advice in these threads are to de register and then wait 6 hours or 24 hours before re registering.

Thanks bandofbrothers1 - that seems to have done the trick.
Surely, Vodafone official people, it would make sense to build some functionality to fix this rather than have a pretty crude workaround as the only way to resolve this issue for people?!
