VSS 3 power light only

chayes
4: Newbie

Hello,

Have a VSS3, it's worked generally OK for many months but has not worked for last week or so.

Power light is on continuously, but none of the other lights are lit.

Have tried tunring off / on. Have tried to reset, but not sure this has worked - various postings on here suggest all lights should come on during reset,  but this doesn't happen. Have held reset button for longer than 30 seconds, but it just sits there with power light only on.

Serial no. 40130413392

Help please!

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi chayes,

That’s correct, the process is exactly the same.

Pop into your local store to get this sent away.

Thanks,

Gemma

Hi chayes

This is why Kay has asked you to test it with a different ISP.

You simply need to plug it in a different location :).

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks

Sukhi

OK - have now tried this at a different location and get exactly the same problem.  Steady power light, with no other lights on at all.  Tried to reset, with and without network cable, and always the same - steady power light, no other lights on.

Please advise what next?

Thanks,

Chris.

Hi chayes,

That could point to a hardware fault.

I'd recommend sending the Sure Signal for a warranty repair.

Thanks Dave,

Other than in the title, that link just refers to phones.  I assume that the process for a VSS is the same?

Cheers,

Chris.

By way of an update, took it in to local Vodafone store as advised, and after a week or so was contacted to say was ready to be collected. In fact they issued me with a new one, which is working fine.

Thanks for help.

Hi Chris,

That’s fantastic news, thanks for the update.

Cheers,

Andy

I have exactly the same issue - Sure Signal suddenly stopped working.  Do I raise another thread or take straight to store?  I live 12 miles away from a store and it is expensive to park etc so not exactly impressed if mine is faulty - it is 4 months old.  We are now paying for a contract for a mobile signal we can't use at home :smileysad: and I only renewed my contract on the basis that I had a Sure Signal box so could actually use it as a mobile.  Please help!

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried the Suresignal at my parents house, and the same thing happens, power light only.  My parents have a suresignal box that works fine so I know it is not the line. I tried to reset it there too.  As per the other users in this thread.  I should therefore deduce that it is faulty and needs replacing.  Please advise after looking at my test results.  Although this is standard diagnostics I'm guessing it's nothing to do with the test results?
