Vodafone Smart 4 mini settings being reset.

Over thast few days, during which I have been downloading some applications, several settings have repeatedly been changed.

The 'phone has been set to Silent, it has been set to Vibrate, and the volume slider set to minmum.  

I am sure that this behaviour is related to the downloading activity, but why/how?  A software fault perhaps?

If it never gets past the "Authenticating" stage then this usually indicated that the WiFi password entered is incorrect.

In some instances it can be attributed to a higher level of security being set up on the router but it's something that would need configured so if youa re on factory settings it won't be this

As @hrym mentioned try 'forget'ing the network and connecting again
