Hi alphonsohall,

This setting is determined by your chosen "Auto-Play" options in Windows.

When you used either the modem, or another USB-Storage device, such as a portable memory stick for the first time, Windows will have asked you what you want to do with this device - one of the options will have been to open it and view the contents. There is also a small, easily-missed tickbox on the same pop-up screen that says "Don't ask again, and always perform this action".

I'm guessing you picked to open the contents - and didn't untick this box - which means whenever a USB-Storage device is plugged into your computer, Windows will automatically open it and display the contents of the folder.

Don't worry though, this isn't a fault and will not cause you any harm - simply close the window and ignore it :)

If you want to change your AutoPlay options, have a look under Control Panel > AutoPlay :)
