Problems with Digital Voice calling iPhones

Is anyone else experiencing a problem when calling a mobile - specifically in my case iPhones - using the Digital Voice landline?

I have just moved over to Vodafone Broadband with Landline and whilst the broadband setup is fine, whenever I have tried calling my own and my wife’s mobile form the DV landline, the connection fails.

Sometimes the iPhone doesn't ring, sometimes it does bit cuts off when the the green answer call button is pressed. At the landline end, you hear the call ringing, but when the iPhone attempts to answer, the sound changes to a sort of repetitive ‘honking’ tone and that's it, until the landline cancels the call.

I've tried it with several different landline phones, tethered and cordless - the result is the same. The call iPhone -> DV land line seems fine.

Any clues?

I'm still out of the country so can't check until after Easter.

No problem.

Just checked away from home and all working. The wife said they were messing with the BT inspection cover near our house a while back but don’t think this is related as I don’t have an active fault complaint.

Safe journey.

I renewed my broadband with home phone this week and was switched to DV.  My problem is identical to EMJ123. I had a live chat session with Vodafone Tech Support yesterday and was eventually told that everything was fine their end so the problem was either with my mobile provider network (O2) or my device (Android smartphone). Luckily I found this forum and by following the workaround posted by lcsneil I can now call my mobile from the DV land line.

We can take a closer look into this for you @Gytrash, to help us do this please pop us a message via one of our social channels.

@Mark I've explained the problems to your 2nd line technical team in detail, have given detailed repeatable examples and had a fault reference but it's still not working after 2 months. You keep asking for people to drop you notes but Voda technical actually have to DO something to fix this issue.

If you have a fault ticket raised, I'm sure the team are looking into the issue and we can provide an update on this. As we'll need access to your account to do this, please pop us a message via the link in my last message.

@Mark, I am also interested in what is being done about this. My fault is the same as @EMJ123. When calling a mobile on the O2 network instead of a ringing tone you get a continuous tone on the landline, the mobile being called fails to ring but registers a missed call and the landline seems to think it is connected as the time counter ramps up. I followed the workaround posted BT @lcsneil and I can now ring my own phone but it looks that if the mobile you are trying to call has VoLTE/WiFi calling enabled then no chance. I am paying for Anytime landline and mobile calls that can only call some mobiles so I'm not too happy.

If you have a fault raised about this @BBolt, we'd be happy to access your account and check the notes for you. As we're unable to access to your account here, please pop my team a message via our social channels.

Made contact yesterday through Facebook and received a response this afternoon, only problem is the person who responded (Waq) is unable to help with landline issues so referred me back to the Broadband Team. I think this was the team that told me on 27/3/24 via Live Chat that the problem was with my mobile network provider (O2) or my mobile handset as I could call other mobiles. This thread tells me otherwise. Hey Ho.

Getting so fed up with the whole scenario. I did manage to get the problem fixed so that my now 92 year old father could call my EE mobile. However a month or so later the same problem occoured again! As previously mentioned I need to be at his house to be able to provide the examples they will inevitably ask for, and run through the tech checks because although my Dad is as bright as a button he is unable to understand the tech jargon and cope with the whole customer service merry go round. My Dad lives over 100 miles away so I cannot just pop round to do it, so I am going to try while I am staying with him for the next few days to negotiate the hurdles and hoops of customer service yet again. But I should not really be needing to do this...VODAPHONE THERE IS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE WITH LANDLINES CALLING MOBILES.....THERE ARE NUMEROUS ENTRIES ON THIS THREAD OUTLINEING THE SAME ISSUES. FOR GOODNESS SAKE SORT IT OUT!!!"!!!! TELL THE TECH TEAM TO ACTUALLY INVESTIGATE AND GET THIS SITUATION DEALT WITH ONCE AND FOR ALL. I WILL DEFINITELY BE ENCOURAGING MY DAD TO CHOOSE ANOTHER OPERATOR ONCE HIS CONTRACT IS OVER AS VODAPHONE ARE ABSOLUTELY USELESS.
