Hello, I too have just been charged for NOT answering a scam call from an unknown 020 number at 11:39 today,6/2/21....I never answer these scam calls, I am a retired house bound 68 year old woman, yet I was charged by Vodaphone immediately ( Got the txt this morning telling me I had been given unltd mins and txts, and 50MB of data...... ), despite having all data access disabled on my phone. ....and I had ignored the call..... The ping of the txt arrived a few seconds after the scam call... I have sent a message to the Facebook support link and am waiting for an explanation..........I don't like this at all.

Hi all! We've identified that there was an issue where voicemails were being recognised as outgoing calls and therefore triggering the £1 charge, which has now been resolved. I appreciate that you have all been very patient with us while we investigated. If you have been effected by the 'voicemail trigger', please contact us on social media so that we can assist with getting this rectified 😊

Me too.... I too have been charged for NOT answering a call from an unknown number +##~## today 09022021 at 1:52pm. At the same time I have recived a sms from vodafon. "From Vodafone: Just to let you know that you've now got unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 50MB of data to enjoy for the rest of the day." I do not use mobiledata nor I use the phone for calls at all - only emergency phone. How is this possible that you charge me for a service I did not use .I am a Pay-as-you-go customer. Please explain

If you haven't already @Pit, please drop us a message through our Facebook or Twitter channels through the link @Mark has provided above. We'll be able to investigate what caused the charge for you and ensure this is resolved.

I have been in touch via twitter but was told that I was not charged that day as no data used. This was despite £1 taken from my credit and the text received about my remaining usage allowance for the day.

Hi @muff13

The Twitter Team should have refunded the  overcharge, if this was not done it is straightforward theft.

Hi @AnnS

Little I can do when they say I was not charged. I had contacted customer services via chat and did have £1 refunded but that was for a day earlier in the week. No explanation about this charge for a non answered phone call from a spam number. At the moment I am waiting for a breakdown of my data usage over the last week or so and see if this can throw any light on the problem. At the end of the day, I cannot understand how I can use any data with no mobile signal in my house (I do have wifi calling enabled hence the unanswered phone call) and this is something no one has been able to explain to me. Apart from the fact that I was always led to believe that my wifi would cover any data usage. It's funny how this has only started since the new pricing for PAYG1 was introduced. Prior to that, I never had any charges for any usage when at home. and could use a great deal of data via my wifi (and mobile

data was enabled)

I have also been frustrated when tryiyto get any sense from Advisors about charges on my Pay As You Go1 account.
Just tonight I had a callback from a Manager to credit the charge... and his manner was much better.. admitting that Vodafone had a widespread problem and saying that they are doing their utmost to solve it.
Result?????

And another one.

Data off, no calls made, no text sent.

The phone rings with an incoming call.

If the call is not answered, a text comes through immediately, saying that you now have unlimited calls and texts for the rest of the day and a pound has gone from the balance.

I called 191 to query this, but that turned out to be a surreal experience. Simply put, I was not believed. Got told it was impossible and I had used the phone by mistake, or had forgotten using it. Told me several times that he needed to educate me on how to use the service, while constantly trying to upsell me into a contact or a bundle! The whole thing was like a TV parody of an offensive CS call.

I'll add my story. Actually two: one for my phone and one for my wifes. Both of us are on PAYG deals. Both of us have mobile data swiched off and backgound data disabled.

My wife has found that she gets the familiar message ("Good news you have been charged £1...) whenever she reboots her phone, This has happened 12 times since the change of PAYG charges, Her MyVodafone record shows the £1 charge levied at these times, against internet use amounting to  0 (zero) Mb. I had an online chat about this; the agent did not resolve the issue.

Yesterday when I looked at my phone for the first time, at around mid day I saw that the familiar text message had arrived at 8.05. I also saw that someone had left me a voicemail at  exactly that time, but I hadn't seen it (or opened it) and didnt until mid-day. I had an on line chat about this too. In this case it looks as if the charge was cancelled.

Right now it looks like the new PAYG system is a mess. And I'm looking for a PAYG deal elsewhere.

Hello I tried this, switched 4G off....but this morning I had another 'Unknown' call at 8:25 am from 0779936602.

I did not answer it....I was still in bed. It rang about 3 times then stopped.....I see on my txt messages and in my account that I have lost another £1 from my credit.....

I would like my lost £2 returned please....my money is being stolen.

What can I do....?  I have quite a lot of credit on my phone in case of hospital emergencies.

This is not acceptable.
